I grew up in a creative family. We were always drawing, painting, gardening, dancing, making music, crafting, etc. We did everything from arrange flowers to cutting out paper snowflakes, to creating “masterpieces” in acrylic, pastels, and charcoal.
I started sewing at a very early age, sitting with my mom’s button box and a scrap of fabric, while she was making clothes. I’d sew all her beautiful buttons to a scrap of fabric. My mother would oooh and aaaah over my creation, then quietly cut the buttons from the fabric, when I wasn’t around, so I could sew them on again the next time she sewed.
Throughout the years I was always engaged in creative activities. I can’t remember being without a sewing machine, even when I was first out on my own. I designed and created my wedding dress and helped several of the bridesmaids get theirs completed.
I kept my creative interests alive, even with frequent moves and life changes. I sewed, crafted and gardened whenever possible. I feel my life’s calling is making things pretty, creating beautiful surroundings. I’ve done that wherever I’ve lived with whatever I had on hand.
I always dreamed of making a living with my creativity. When I found digitizing, I knew I had found a way I could create beautiful things that I could share with others. I’m finally able to marry my love of creativity with my profession. I spend hours digitizing and never even know the time had passed. Each new project is an exciting venture into interpretation of the artist’s idea, as it translates into thread. From conception to completed design each aspect allows me to explore and expand my artistic prowess. I’m like the proverbial kid in a candy store, having a blast as I master each technique in order to bring you the best designs.
I have completed training and coursework on basic and advanced digitizing skills with Embroidery Legacy. I will continue to hone my skills with available workshops and webinars as available. Being up-to-date on the latest and greatest skills and developments in the field is a priority.
My designs range from monograms, to logos, to items for your fur friends, to decorative designs for clothing and household items. I’m also available for custom digitizing any of the above. Please feel free to contact me if you have work you are looking to have digitized. You can see examples of my custom work here.
